Updated: Feb 22

All Hail The Rev. Betty King

If you've never heard of. her, the Rev Betty King is a beacon of wisdom and compassion. She weaves her spiritual journey into a tapestry of inspiration.

As a dynamic preacher, she delivers sermons that resonate with authenticity, guiding others on their own paths of faith.

Having had the pleasure of interviewing this remarkable woman, Rev. Betty King, her radiant spirit and profound insights shine even brighter.

Through our conversation, we delved into the depths of her wisdom, uncovering the layers of inspiration that define her transformative journey and The Cry event being held in January 2024.

What inspired the creation of "The Cry" event, and what is its central theme?

This year our focus is on Healing; healing of the nations, our communities, our homes and

in our own lives.

Now more than ever we need healing. There is so much happening in the

world right now and only God can bring healing and reconciliation.

We’ll be calling on God, united in prayer, praying for various situations in different parts of the world. The Biblical inspiration for ‘The Cry’ is based on several key scriptures mainly Song of Solomon, Chapter 4:1-4 and Psalm 24.

The Cry is an ascent. This is about the Church going to the next level, arising to take its position in the world beyond the limitations and intimidation.

Can you provide insights into the artists and performers involved in the event?

Our guest speakers include Pastor Mathew Kurkvilla, Reverend Nam-Jun Kim, David Vincent and Pastor Sandra Nelson and Evangelist Virginia Logan. Worship leaders on the day include Pastor Dr Sam Lee, Noel Robinson, Junior Garr, Lucy Grimble, Sam Daniel &

How does "The Cry" aim to resonate with its audience emotionally or spiritually?

The gathering aims to strengthen those who are tired and discouraged - empowering the

Body of Christ in general.

In a time of uncertainty, the Church needs to rise up and meet the needs of the people. The Cry is a call to repentance and awakening.

Could you describe the anticipated atmosphere and experience attendees will have during the event?

We believe that the atmosphere will be full of the tangible glory of God.

What unique elements or surprises can attendees expect at "The Cry”?

There are no surprises, simply be ready for an encounter.

Are there any particular messages or takeaways you hope the audience will leave with after experiencing the event?

We are believing for people to come into the fullness of their identity in Christ and move in

power and authority to bring a major harvest of souls.

How has the response been to previous editions of "The Cry" or similar events?

Now in its second year The Cry gatherings unites thousands across denominations.

People are registering to attend from around the world including Russia, Norway, Ghana,

Brazil, USA and Singapore to name a few.

It has been astonishing to see the numbers of people who are coming from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. It’s as though parts of the Commonwealth are returning to hold the hand of Great Britain in this time of change.

Could you share a bit about the planning process and the effort behind bringing this event to fruition?

Our planning meetings are when we seek the face of The Lord for the day, the mandate and beyond.

Every meeting is founded on the biblical word of God and prophetic word of God, for the times we are in. This is been vital in discerning who will join us to lead prayer, worship and how the Lord will have us gather as we expect His Spirit to move in and through every heart in attendance.

Will there be any interactive or participatory segments during the event?

This is a day of prayer and worship. We want all of our attendees to participate in the cry

through the agreement of prayer.

Throughout the day, we will offer adoration to the Father in anticipation for a real move of His Spirit. Come and join us in unity, representing the Body of Christ. We are inviting people to come and be a part of this day, of this movement.

Can you describe how "The Cry" aims to create a sense of community or connection among its attendees?

A call to unity is also at the heart of ‘The Cry’, with the event focused on uniting the Church

across denominations, ethnicities, culture and the generations.

This will also be reflected in the range of contributors featuring throughout the day.

How does "The Cry" address mental health awareness and support within its event framework?

For the younger generation, the event will tackle a range of issues including mental health,

addiction, sexual impurity and lack of identity with the hope of bringing wholeness and

healing to this generation.

Are there specific workshops, discussions, or resources available at the event that centre around mental health well-being or coping strategies?

We want to emphasis that we will be praying for those struggling with mental health issues

on the day, aswell as the lead up to the event.

We are also working with different organisations that work closely with those struggling and will have references on our website with resources that can be accessed afterwards.

How does the event acknowledge and embrace diversity in identities and mental health experiences?

This is a trans-generational and multicultural movement.

We have a variety of different cultures as seen through the ministers praying and leading worship. They all carry a unique sound and yet are all are uniting as one, with one message.
