In the high-stakes, fast-paced world of entrepreneurship, staying ahead often comes with a price; long hours, high stress and limited time to focus on personal well-being. I know I've succumbed to those things over the years.
Business owners like us spend too long juggling endless tasks and second-guessing every decision.
With this pressure, it’s easy to feel isolated or stuck in a cycle of indoor meetings and screen time, but no more!
Netwalking; THE Networking Walking Group for Business Owners
In 2025, I'm on a journey to improve, not only my own mental health and well-being but yours too, all without sacrificing our business goals.
By recognising this challenge, I've created a fresh initiative that offers a solution that’s as rejuvenating as it is practical.
I'm incredibly proud to announce the introduction of NetWalking - a unique walking group designed specifically for entrepreneurs and business leaders to connect, collaborate and recharge while embracing the great outdoors.
What Is NetWalking?

NetWalking is not your typical business event, think of it as what it really is; a networking walking group for business owners in London.
Gone are the hotel conference rooms, awkward conversations and rigid agendas. Instead, participants lace up their walking shoes and step outside for meaningful conversations amidst the serenity of nature.
This walking group combines the best of professional networking with the benefits of being active, fostering a healthy and supportive environment for business leaders to share ideas, build relationships and step away - literally and figuratively - from the daily grind.
The Inspiration Behind NetWalking
My concept for NetWalking was born from a growing recognition that traditional networking events often fail to create lasting, meaningful connections.
Entrepreneurs frequently find themselves trapped in a loop of superficial small talk or rigid pitches, missing out on genuine relationship-building.
At the same time, many business owners acknowledge they don’t spend enough time outdoors or prioritise their mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Studies repeatedly show that walking in nature boosts creativity, reduces stress and improves overall well-being - qualities every entrepreneur could benefit from.
NetWalking aims to merge these two needs: providing a relaxed yet purposeful setting where business leaders can connect while enjoying the restorative power of the outdoors.
Why Walking Works for Entrepreneurs
Walking isn’t just good for the body; it’s a boon for the mind. There’s something inherently freeing about moving forward, step by step, in open spaces.
Research has shown that walking:
Encourages Creativity: A study from Stanford University revealed that walking can increase creative output by an average of 60%. Entrepreneurs often need innovative solutions, and there’s no better way to brainstorm than while walking through a scenic trail.
Facilitates Better Conversations: Walking side by side, rather than sitting across from someone, often feels less formal and intimidating. It fosters open, authentic communication, ideal for sharing ideas or discussing challenges which is exactly what NetWalking is designed to do.
Reduces Stress: Being in nature and engaging in physical activity helps lower cortisol levels, making it easier to approach problems with a calm, focused mindset.
Strengthens Community: Shared experiences, like conquering a hilly path or marvelling at a stunning view, naturally bond people together.
NetWalking leverages these benefits, offering entrepreneurs a chance to network in a way that’s not only productive but also refreshing.
What to Expect at a NetWalking Event
Each NetWalking event is thoughtfully curated to ensure participants get the most out of their experience.
Here’s what a typical session looks like:
A Scenic Route: Walks take place in picturesque locations that offer an escape from urban chaos. Whether it’s a park, a coastal trail, or a countryside path, the setting provides a breath of fresh air - literally and metaphorically.
Structured Yet Flexible Conversations: To keep the networking purposeful, events often include icebreaker prompts or themes. For example, a walk might focus on discussing leadership challenges, marketing strategies, or wellness tips for entrepreneurs. However, there’s also plenty of room for organic conversations.
A Safe, Supportive Space: NetWalking is open to all business leaders, from solo entrepreneurs to seasoned executives, creating a diverse and inclusive environment. The group prioritises respect, support and collaboration.
Opportunities for Follow-Up: After each walk, participants are encouraged to exchange contact information and continue building relationships beyond the trail. Don't forget your business cards!
The Benefits of Joining NetWalking
For entrepreneurs and business owners, the benefits of participating in NetWalking go beyond the immediate connections made during the walk.
Here’s why joining this group could be a game-changer for your business and well-being:
1. Build Authentic Relationships
Networking in traditional settings can feel transactional. In contrast, walking together allows conversations to unfold naturally, helping participants forge deeper, more authentic connections.
These relationships often lead to collaborations, partnerships, or simply a strong support network, something we can all do with these days.
2. Prioritise Your Well-Being
Entrepreneurs are notorious for putting their health on the back burner. NetWalking gives you a reason to step away from your desk, breathe in fresh air, and move your body, all while working towards your professional goals.
3. Gain Fresh Perspectives
Walking alongside peers from different industries or stages of business can spark new ideas and insights.
A casual conversation on the trail might lead to a solution you hadn’t considered or inspire your next big project.
4. Balance Productivity with Enjoyment
NetWalking reminds business owners that networking and personal development don’t have to feel like chores.
The group’s relaxed atmosphere makes professional growth an enjoyable experience.
How to Get Involved
NetWalking is open to entrepreneurs and business owners of all backgrounds.
Whether you’re a seasoned CEO, a start-up founder, or a freelancer navigating the challenges of self-employment, this group welcomes you.
The first step is to sign up for an upcoming walk. Details about locations, schedules and registration are available on the NetWalking page of this website.
Please keep an eye on P45 Consultancy's social media channels for any updates, all linked at the bottom of this page.
Participation fees are kept at a minimum and often go towards securing permits, insurance, or other event essentials.
The Future of NetWalking
As NetWalking gains traction, I'll be exploring ways to expand the initiative based on your feedback.
Future plans may include themed walks (e.g., sustainability-focused routes or leadership skill-building sessions), guest speakers who can offer insights during the walk, and even overnight retreats that combine hiking with workshops.
Ultimately, the vision is to create a global community of entrepreneurs who embrace the benefits of connecting outdoors, redefining what it means to network in a meaningful, health-conscious way.
Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Join
"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and will not be faint". - Isaiah 40:31
