ABOUT US

Our Founder and CEO, Beverley White, was born and raised within a proud working-class West Indian family in Birmingham, UK to parents of the Windrush generation.

Initially constrained by family and friendly assumptions, Beverley started her fledgling career in the world of medicine. But, whilst attending an eye operation during her training, she witnessed bulging eyelids and protruding eyeballs pulled back by instruments and more blood than she’s ever seen. She wasn’t a big fan. It was time for something SHE wanted to do.

Without those constraints, Beverley went to see a production of ‘When Two Shifts Meet’ at a theatre in nearby Mosley. Her mind, her imagination and her passion for the creative space was ignited on that day.

After watching that show, Bev immediately went to speak to the creative team behind the show, including the writer and director who, after a brief conversation, agreed to audition her for a part.

Our
Story

This encounter highlighted exactly where Beverley was ultimately destined to find her place and somewhere she could channel her nascent creativity.

Over the following years, Beverley travelled the world, often self-funded, working in theatres around Europe and in many schools and colleges helping to inspire young people to be more.

She’s worked as an actor, Production Assistant, fundraiser and tour promotor learning a wealth of new skills and helping others to succeed.

This eclectic start to Beverley’s career ultimately benefited her, as it gave her the opportunity to gain insight from all levels across a range of industries.

After receiving a secondment from the Arts Council of Great Britain and a little funding from Birmingham City Council, Beverley was part of another tour that launched at Birmingham’s world-famous Hippodrome Theatre.

This was quickly followed by more school tours, offering children music lessons from a Caribbean and African Ensemble, alongside training in theatre skills and performance speaking.

The tours had opened Beverley’s eyes and her world up to new opportunities and possibilities. She even began to work with small charities and non-profit organisations.

For everything the West Midlands had given her, it was time to leave her beloved Birmingham behind and test herself on the UK’s biggest stage of all; London.

"Have faith in us, as we do in you."

With her wealth of experience, she soon landed a job at one of the world’s leading advertising agencies, Morgan-Grampian (now known as Incisive Media) as part of their training program.

It wasn’t long before Beverley showed them her worth. Pitching her first advertisement, the Sales Director immediately saw her potential as a ready-made replacement for the departing Sales Manager and, following a salary negotiation, snapped her up

This experience helped solidify her belief that you should always ask for the value of your worth, and not just what you think you'll get away with.

If someone is not interested in investing in the overall value that you bring to the business, it's not worth investing your time and talent in that. A philosophy she takes into P45 Consultancy to this day.

P45 Consultancy - About Us

After 8 years, Beverley moved into print media with the Daily Express newspaper, a completely new world, but another industry she couldn’t wait to read all about.

Working within the cut-throat world of a national newspaper comes with its own set of challenges and political landscapes, one which ultimately seemed to stifle her creativity, rather than embrace it.

Because of that, she took the brave step of moving away from the shelter of a multi-national media corporation where she could affect little, to a new start-up where she could make a big difference to people and their fledgling businesses.

Whilst Beverley flourished, the call of the mass media industry was strong and before long was working within The Mirror newspaper, but this time within their recruitment department.

A demanding role for sure, but also an interesting role to have, especially on the day Piers Morgan was sacked! You can only imagine the scenes around Canary Wharf on that day!

A number of other roles followed away from the Mirror Group, including Yell and Thomson Local before Bev found a new home in radio, where she blossomed.

Beverley’s journey, for all its twists and turns, ebbs and flows, collectively shows us all that directions change, lessons are learned and experiences garnered. We may not always see it, but they all point us in the right way, the path God has made for us all.

Taking over 25 years worth of invaluable experience with her, Beverley started on perhaps her greatest challenge, but one which will deliver her most satisfying project to date, here at P45 Consultancy.

P45 Consultancy allows Bev to share everything she loves and learned within the advertising, sales and marketing field with us all.

Seeing a client’s project from conception to completion, taking the most basic ideas and turning them into reality fills her with joy and it’s at the heart of what we do.

In her time, Bev has been blessed to be a part of charities that have managed to provide over 1.1 million meals to children in Uganda. She has been part of supporting charities that need donations in order to provide resources for communities that don't have proper schooling.

Beverley has also been honoured to be a part of organisations that have helped alleviate people out of poverty so working with charitable organisations remains a cornerstone of what we do. But the world is a big place and we’re ready to be an even bigger part of it.

As we start this new adventure, we want to work with companies, non-profits and charities all over the world who need to feel like they're a critical piece of an agency, not just a cog in a larger machine.

A company that recognises its objectives, understands their difficulties, embraces the challenges they face and is looking for a partner to help them grow up in a world that is intended to keep individuals down.

We accept we are that. Have faith in us, as we do in you. Welcome to P45 Consultancy.
